About this statement
This statement explains how A Plus Traffic Group ("we", "us") collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
We collect the personal information we need to quote, book and deliver traffic management services. This may include:
- your name, job title and the business you work for;
- phone numbers, email addresses and postal or billing addresses;
- work site addresses, job dates and times, and job notes;
- traffic guidance schemes, traffic management plans, permits and other documents you give us;
- records of our calls, emails, messages, quotes, bookings and invoices with you;
- your ABN and purchase order numbers, if you provide them.
When you use our website, we also collect technical information needed to run the site and protect it from spam and abuse, such as your IP address and browser type.
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the site (for example, which pages are viewed and whether a quote or booking form was completed) so we can improve it. This information is collected in aggregate and is not used to identify you. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
We do not ask for sensitive information (such as health information) from customers. If you give us personal information about someone else, such as a site contact, please make sure they know you have done so and that this statement applies.
How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you when you request a quote or booking on our website, call or email us, send us documents, or work with us on a job. We may also receive it from your employer or principal contractor when they engage us, or from councils, Transport for NSW or other authorities in connection with a permit or job.
Why we collect it and how we use it
We use personal information to:
- prepare quotes and confirm and schedule bookings;
- prepare traffic guidance schemes, traffic management plans and permit applications;
- communicate with you about jobs, including confirmations, reminders and changes;
- invoice for our services and manage our accounts;
- keep records of our dealings with you and manage our customer relationships;
- meet our work health and safety, insurance, tax and other legal obligations;
- improve our services and keep our systems secure.
We may send you information about our services. You can ask us to stop at any time, and every marketing email includes a way to opt out.
If you do not give us the information we ask for, we may not be able to quote or provide our services.
Who we disclose it to
We disclose personal information only as needed for the purposes above, including to:
- councils, Transport for NSW, NSW Police and other authorities when applying for permits or approvals for your job;
- our traffic controllers and subcontractors who carry out the work;
- service providers who host our website, booking system, customer records and email, and who provide accounting, IT and professional services to us;
- our insurers and professional advisers;
- anyone else where the law requires or allows it.
We do not sell personal information.
Storage, security and overseas disclosure
Our booking system and customer records are hosted in Australia. Some of our service providers, including our email, website and analytics providers (such as Google), may store or process information on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure those providers protect personal information.
We protect personal information with access controls, encryption in transit and staff-only system access. We keep records for as long as we need them for the purposes above and to meet our legal obligations (for example, tax records for at least five years), then delete or de-identify them.
Access and correction
You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why.
